The 1st Annual Syndicate Zombie Walk was a SUCCESS!

TheTruthSyndicate started planning a Zombie Walk about four months ago, One month of planning between ourselves, and nearly 3 months of advertising and meeting with the City’s mayor and Assistant to the Mayor. We had no clue as to how much it would cost us to pull a city permit or if they would require security of any kind. Being that our organization receives no outside funding at the time,  we were very nervous. If fees become an issue we would simply have to drop our plans of doing this event. Well it wasn’t an issue and the city officials seemed excited at the idea.

So the Zombie Walk was on!

Many nerve racking days and nights of wondering how much of a success our Walk would be seemed to smother the excitement that we should have been feeling. The morning of the event tensions were high, I awoke extra early and started the first of three stages of makeup that it would take to make my Zombie costume the way I envisioned it. I worked on Misty’s and Kreature’s makeup in between the stages of my own. With each waking minute the nervousness grew, and grew. The time for us to depart to the starting point arrived and we was all running around checking, and double checking that we had all that we needed for the Walk. Once we got there everything seemed to fall into place with few hiccups along the way. The start time was just around the corner and more people were showing up, I’m sure we were smiling ear to ear underneath our makeup, maggots, and blood.

We were very pleased at our maiden attempt at having a Zombie Walk in Conway, Arkansas. We are also pleased to say that plans are already in the works to have another next year, and that it may possibly kick off a Conway Zombie Festival. We will be meeting with city officials soon to lock down the details.
