Misty’s Survival Tips: Ready-To-Go-Bag

Published on March 13, 2011 by   ·   No Comments

Survival is the art of staying alive. Here are some essentials. Basic common sense tells you to be prepared.

Ways to be prepared are to stay as physically fit as possible and have up-to-date health check-ups.

Also, it is a good idea to have a bag ready to do just in case something arises that forces you to travel.

Here are a few key items that are good to have in your “ready to go” bag:

  • matches (in a waterproof container),
  • candle,
  • flint,
  • magnifying glass,
  • needles and thread (or travel size sewing kit),
  • fish hooks and line, compass,
  • snare wire,
  • flexible saw,
  • medical kit,
  • blades,
  • condoms (these make excellent water bags, holding up to 1 liter of water),
  • and a good knife.

These are just a few of the items you can have in your bag.

More items to have prepared are clothes that are suitable for many different environments, and comfortable, protective shoes. A good sleeping bag and an easy to transport tent/tarp are advisable as well.
