You, Me, and Animal Rescues make three

It is so easy in times of economic turmoil to forget that it’s not only man that suffers. As families lose their homes, and the means to feed themselves, so do pets. All too often, I see ads in local fliers, and online, of pets that are about to be put down due to noone wanting to give them a chance. Certain breeds of dogs, and all breeds of cats, seem to be hit the hardest. This is, in large part, due to the fact that so many are uneducated as to how to properly care for these types of animals. It pains me to see how easy it is to just toss aside a beloved pet, and not care if they are ever cared for again. It is my personal opinion, that animals are far better than humans on most occasion anyway, yet they are the ones that suffer the most when humans can’t seem to get it together. This article is to raise awareness for an ever growing problem, and hopefully, save quite a few lives. These furry counterparts need love and care too, and believe me, they are all very deserving of our help. Below is a list of rescue organizations, as well as help with transportation. This list was compiled by a good friend who is equally disgusted with the lack of compassion given these animals, and who is working just as hard to save as many lives as she can. Thank You DZ!!! This world needs more people like you. To the readers of this article, if you have the means, I urge you to please help in any way that you can. Share this article with family and friends. Let’s work together to help end such a horrifying epidemic.

It’s always good to adopt from your local shelter, as they’ll most often provide you with resources in your area that are most helpful. REMEMBER TO SPAY/NEUTER & VACCINATE!!!! You’ve chosen to be part of the solution & NOT part of the problem! Vouchers are available & for many breeds it is FREE – check with your local shelter or animal rescues, or contact the Humane Society &/or ASPCA for voucher information.
