The 5000 year old remains of a “Caveman” were found in Czech Republic, the strange part was they were buried in a fashion that was reserved for the female of the species. With the head facing eastward, and surrounded by domestic jugs instead of the more familiar weapons, hammers and flint knives that have been found with the men in the past.
“From history and ethnology, we know that people from this period took funeral rites very seriously so it is highly unlikely that this positioning was a mistake,” said lead archaeologist Kamila Remisova Vesinova.
“Far more likely is that he was a man with a different sexual orientation, homosexual or transsexual,” she added
It is known that burial rituals among these people were taken very serious and the only similar case that has been found was a female warrior buried as a man, that dated back to mesolithic period. Shamans were buried similar to this but with a lot of ornamentation surrounding them to show their status in society. This grave did not include those things.
