In todays “Go Green” society, many health and environment conscious professionals are pushing for more soy products to be used. School lunches contain many soy products, and “lactose-intolerant” folks are all about soy milk. But, is soy really good for you? Studies are showing that really it’s not.
Here is a summary of some of the dangers of soy:
- High levels of phytic acid in soy reduce the assimilation of calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc. High phytate diets have been shown to cause growth problems in children. Remember those school lunches?
- Trypsin inhibitors in soy cause problems with protein digestion and may cause pancreatic disorders.
- Soy phytoestrogens disrupt endocrine function and also have the potential to cause infertility and promote breast cancer in adult women.
- Soy phytoestrogens are potent antithyroid agents that cause hypothyroidism and may cause thyroid cancer. In infants, consumption of soy formula has been linked to autoimmune thyroid disease. Hmm…’obese’ America? Remember those school lunches again?
- Vitamin B12 analogs in soy aren’t absorbed and increase the body’s requirement for B12. Could this be the reason why our children are so tired?
- Soy increases the body’s requirements for Vitamin D.
- Soy products contain large amounts of MSG, a potent neurotoxin.
- Soy foods contain high amounts of aluminum, which is toxic to the nervous system and the kidneys.
The above are just “some of the dangers” of soy. Studies are linking soy consumption to several different cancers, and as a cause of obesity in children. This being said, do you really think the government, which is in control of what schools serve for lunch, isn’t aware of this information? Could they possibly be purposely creating an obese America; purposely allowing carcinogenics to be fed to our children? Why not? It is a surefire way to insure that people will consistently be reliant on doctors and pharmaceutical companies to survive. If you are really health conscious, please research before you change your diet to the “healthy alternative” of soy. It turns out, it’s really not soy good for you.
