In an attempt to educate those who may not know much about certain people or things, I have decided to start sharing random facts on various subjects.
Today’s subject is Ron Paul. Hope you enjoy!
(1) Ron Paul was born Ronald Ernest “Ron” Paul on August 20, 1935. Yep, he’s a Leo!
(2) He is an American Medical Doctor of obstetrics/gynecology, as well as a Republican U.S. Congressman.
(3) Ron Paul has run for President of the United States twice, first in 1988 for the Libertarian Party, and again in 2008 for the Republican nomination.
(4) He is the founder of the advocacy group “Campaign for Liberty”.
(5) According to a study done for the American Journal of Political Science, in 1998, Paul had the most conservative voting record for any member of Congress since 1937.
(6) Ron Paul is the first Representative in history to serve alongside a son or daughter; his son, Rand Paul, was elected to the Senate in 2011 for Kentucky.
(7) He served as a flight surgeon for the United States Air Force from 1963-1965, and the United States Air National Guard from 1965-1968.
(8) Ron Paul has been married since 1957 to Carol Wells, and they have five children.
(9) Ron Paul carries the nickname of “Dr.No”.
(10) Paul has authored more bills than the average representative, and has amended several more pertinent legislations.
