In yesterdays first installment I shared some facts about Ron Paul. Today I follow up with a few random facts about his ideal political counterpart, Jesse Ventura. Read on, learn something new perhaps, and above all—enjoy!
(1) Jesse Ventura was born on July 15, 1951 as James George Janos, but we all know him as Jesse “The Body” Ventura.
(2) Ventura was the 38th Governor of Minnesota, serving from 1999 to 2003.
(3) Although he worked with Navy Seals during the Vietnam War, he is actually a Navy UDT (Underwater Demolition Team) veteran. The UDT did eventually merge with the Navy Seals, but not until 8 years after Ventura had left the Navy.
(4) He was a full-patch member of the outlaw motorcycle club, The Mongols, he left a little after a year without any criminal problems, or problems with authorities.
(5) Ventura was a professional wrestler from 1975 to 1984, when a blood clot in his lungs ended his charismatic in-ring wrestling career; he was a commentator for WCW from 1992 to 1994.
(6) After leaving wrestling, he began his political career as Mayor of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota on a recommendation to run from one of his former high school teachers. He won the race and served as Mayor from 1991-1995.
(7) Before “Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura”, he had a show on MSNBC called “Jesse Ventura’s America.

(9) Ventura describes himself as a Lutheran turned athiest, and stated on The Howard Stern Show, that he had been convinced to become an athiest from watching George Carlin.
(10) In 1975, Jesse married his wife Terry, they have two grown children, and currently reside in Mexico “completely off the grid”.
