Troops Vs. Immigrants
Published on September 19, 2010 by The Truth Syndicate · No Comments

Before the recession of the economy hit in 2007, the number of illegal immigrants entering the country was 850,000 people a year. But since the recession it has dropped to 30,000 people, this is according to the numbers given by Tara Bahrampour in her article Number of illegal immigrants in U.S. drops, report says.
Those illegal immigrants break the law entering the country without proper authorization. She also is quoted saying, “Of the 11.1 million illegal immigrants, 60 percent came from Mexico, 20 percent from other parts of Latin America, 11 percent from Asia, and 8 percent from Africa, Europe, Canada and elsewhere.”
A lot of these illegals can’t even speak English, let alone the legal immigrants living in the U.S. Last time I checked, the national language of the United States is English. I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of the TRAVESTY of making a call and hearing a prompt saying “Press one for English”, when I am calling a government organization or business.
I am an American, born and raised in this country. Why the Hell should I be bothered even hearing those prompts? The answer is I shouldn’t.
And while the country is being bombarded by illegal immigrants that steal from the American public, the U.S troops are in post cold war nations. This is from Ivan Eland in his article The U.S. Military: Overextended Overseas. He states, “The United States has over 200,000 troops stationed in 144 countries and territories. At any given time, it usually has another 20,000 sailors and Marines deployed afloat on Navy ships.”
Ivan Eland is the director of defense policy studies at the Cato Institute and also states, “The vast majority of the deployments are vestiges of the Cold War.” These are countries that virtually don’t need attention by our troops
In one more note that I have read of his, “Most of the 100,000 troops in Europe (mainly in Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Spain, Iceland, Belgium and Portugal) and almost all of the 75,000 troops in Asia (in Japan and South Korea) are supporting wealthy nations against mild or declining threats.”
While our borders are being threatened by illegal actions, the U.S. military is in countries they do not need to be in. The country should be secure instead of fighting other battles first.
